I would forget to turn the key to off when exiting the scooter for pics and almost took out a line of small children waiting to see the Fairy Godmother.

Default Will I survive 5 days with my mom?

It's official. I am going back again on April 30th until May 4th. The title sums it up. I am going on a mom and daughter trip.

Cast of characters:
ME: Lorrie and I may live up to Grumpy on this trip.
Mom: Esther - what can I say. She's my mom and I love her but she can drive me crazy. We have gone for weeks without acknowledging each other. She is also the first person I call when my kids are driving me crazy.

Reason - Bounceback offer and I want to see the Flower & Garden show. When I got to my hotel room in December there was a bounceback offer on the table. I knew my DH couldn't afford to take off from work again so soon but when I saw the dates I knew I wanted to take advantage of it. I called my mom. Of course she had to ask my dad. Two days later I got a call back and she was in but there was 1 stipulation.
It was a huge one or she wasn't going wth me. What was such a deal breaker you ask? It's a Small World - we go on it or she wasn't going to Disney.
Immediately I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Every trip I drive my family insane. We go on that ride or we go on no rides. Yes I know the music gets in your head. You start to see weird little Animatronic dolls in your sleep dancing around. I don't care. There is a history involved. When I was 8 y/o my mom won an all expense paid trip to the NY World's Fair. She could have taken anyone but she took me. I rode It's A Small World before it was in a park. We also went on Carousel of Progress but she doesn't remember that one. Anyway, that is one of the highlights of my childhood. It is also the only time I can remember having a mom & daughter trip.
My mom is not a huge Disney fan. She sometimes looks at me like "Who is this person and is she really my daughter?" when I go on a huge discussion of Disney. I am hoping to make her see the light this trip. I am also hoping to make her relax and have some fun. We just closed my church and she has been very active in the process. It has been hard on her. I am in charge of all details. That isn't too hard although being a short trip I will have to alter my usual attack plan.
Here's a pic of my mom with my grandson

For a pic of me go to my TR now running. There will be plenty there.

Now hopefully I can keep track of my reports and get the TR done before I actually start the next one in May.

That is great. Too bad though, I think I will be there the following weekend. Nothing set yet but am thinking of it as I would love to see the flower show.

2 reports are hard to do but you can do it.

Too bad it's the following week. I would love to do a mini-meet. Maybe I'll get to Ip-Dip III, if finances work out.

I am really looking forward to it. My mom is an avid gardener so I think she will really love it.

OK, I am in charge of all plans so it puts a huge burden on me. I made our plane reservations so our time travel is set. We are leaving from Philadelphia at 7 AM Friday April 30th. This has us arriving at the Orlando airport around 9:30. I figure we will be at the hotel around 11 and on our way to one of the parks by 12:30. This is based on past travel experiences.
We come home on Tuesday May 4th. The flight leaves Orlando at 8 PM. This means ME should pick us up around 5 PM. This does give me a decent amount of time on both travel days.

We have decided on not doing a Dining Plan at all. I was really pushing it with the regular plan on my last trip and my mom is not a huge eater. I have made one solid ADR. We are doing the Crystal Palace on Monday May 3rd. I made an 8:05 AM ADR. I really want my mom to experience the magic of walking into a nearly empty park. I also have an ADR on Saturday May 1st at the Grand Floridian afternoon tea. I saw pics of this in a TR and knew my mom would love this. My aunt should also be joining us here. She lives in Groveland Florida which is about a half hour away. This will also be an EPCOT day.

I am planning on going to DTD, I want to check out T-Rex, on Day 1 after the park but can't decide which park to go to. MK closes at 7, AK at 6, EPCOT at 9 and DHS at 8:30. MK has always been my traditional Day 1 park. We are doing a full day on monday and it's open til 10 so we should be OK that day.
My dilemma is that because of the Flower & Garden show we will probably do more than one day at EPCOT. If I don't keep the PH's I will probably have to cut out a park, most likely DHS. I want to keep AK because of Devine. I really want my mom to see her and she has never been to AK. She will most likely not want to do EE so I'm thinking Dinosaur, the safari and the jungle trek and we should be fine. This can work on either of our travel days but I am thinking the day down. That means I can try and fit DHS on the other travel day or skip it and use the day home as a chance to fill in what we missed. Then I can always keep the PH and do DHS on sunday and take the friendship boat over to EPCOT for the rest of the day. Then I overthink it and wonder if it's worth it to pay an extra $50 a person to Park hop on one day.
So after all this rambling what do I have as an itinerary
DAY 1: travel day. AK and DTD, hopefully T-Rex
DAY 2: EPCOT Grand Floridian tea
DAY 3: EPCOT, possibly DHS early
DAY 4: MK, CP early ADR
DAY 5: travel day. Fill in or DHS
Meals will be CS and probably something we can share. Of course this is subject to change as I fine tune the schedule based on the calendars.

sounds good. I was looking at those dates too but it is grad nights and I am afraid of all the high schoolers running rampant.

The plans look good. Can you get a later adr for T-Rex?

I didn't know that they were grad nights when I made the reservations. I talked to my DSIL who is from the Tampa area. She went to Disney for grad nights way back when. My understanding is that they pretty much stay at the park. I am worried about extra crowds at DTD but am thinking that maybe they won't care about shopping that much. My mom and I both worked with kids so we now how to deal with them.
I may try for a later ADR or just go to the bar to eat. My mom is not the type that can eat to much after a certain time so I am thinking just splitting an appetizer to experience T-Rex.
